    Hello,
    I’m getting a “configuration wizard could not be started” when selecting the configuration wizard link. I’m on
    wordpress v5.03 (up to date)
    yoast v9.5 (up to date)

    What I’ve done:
    1) I’ve turned off all plugins except yoast and still get the error.
    2) Loaded and tried health check and troubleshooting which didn’t indicate any errors
    3) Loaded console on the wizard page for javascript and did get an error. Specifically the error says: GET https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-json/yoast/v1/configurator 403 (Forbidden)

    This began when I deactivated the yoast plugin for a moment to check something. When I reactivated it, I got the error.

    What do you think?

    Thank you very much!

    One additional piece, I I click on the actual link for my website (GET https://www.mywebsite.com/wp-json/yoast/v1/configurator

    I get the following text on the webpage. The rest of the page is blank:

    {“code”:”rest_forbidden”,”message”:”Sorry, you are not allowed to do that.”,”data”:{“status”:401}}

    Hi @kerryk

    Sorry to hear about the issue you are having with the Yoast plugin. We have few questions:

    1. Have you tried disabling/re-enabling the plugin?
    2. Do you have a firewall that might be blocking this functionality? Does disabling your firewall resolve the issue?
    3. Since you are getting 403 Forbidden error message, have you checked with your hosting provider if there are server restrictions and if you have the correct permissions set to the /wordpress-seo/ folder in your server?
    4. If you re-install the plugin manually, does the issue resolve? Re-installing will not lose your settings (given you have the same database)
