Configure Custom IP?

When I first setup my site with DreamHost, they preinstalled this plugin. At that time, when I ran Check Caching everything looked fine… except a warning about Wordfence.

After setting up Cloudflare, I am getting the following:

Cache Service Varnish caching service is running but is unable to cache your site.
Remote IP You’re using a custom Varnish IP that doesn’t appear to match your server IP address. If you’re using multiple caching servers or IPv6, this is fine. Please make sure you’ve properly configured it according to your webhost’s specifications.
CloudFlare CloudFlare has been detected. Make sure you configure WordPress properly by adding your Varnish IP and to flush the CloudFlare cache if you see inconsistencies.
Age Headers Your site is returning proper “Age” headers.
Cookies Found Cookies have been detected. Unless your caching service is configured properly for the specific cookies, it may not cache properly. Please contact your webhost or administrator with information about the cookies found.
Plugin: Wordfence This plugin uses cookies, which may prevent server side caching. (Active)
Theme Check No installed themes were found on the known conflicts list.

On the settings page, I am seeing Configure Custom IP. Does that need to be the site’s origininal IP address, 0.0.0.0, or localhost?

Ok, spoke with DreamHost’s support in chat. They said that:
1. No IP needs to be entered with DreamPress plans, and
2. The error messages are just warnings and nothing to be concerned about.
Does that sound right?

Normally that’s correct. HOWEVER since you’re using CloudFlare you should change the IP to your domain’s IP address.

If you’re on a new DreamPress, put in localhost — if your server was made before 2019, then you want the IP.

How do I know if my DreamPress server was made before 2019?

If you have the plugin installed and activated, visit the “Proxy Cache” menu in your WP-Admin to verify that the “Set Custom IP” field says localhost. If not, change the field to localhost and click the “Save IP” button.

On older DreamPress machines (before August 2017), this field should be the IP address of the DreamPress server.

I tried entering with word localhost and it does not save. I did enter 127.0.0.1 instead… not sure if that is correct but the DNS records does not show the localhost… and I am getting the same error. I also tried the DreamPress server IP, and also get the same error.

Is this being worked on? It seems another post (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/wpengine-varnish-cache-ip-address-cloudflare/) has a similar issue.
