Hi, i am creating a wedding website. i would like to make it so that, on the day, people can email photos to the website and they will display on a screen. I am trying to do this by using postie to send ALL the photos to ONE specific gallery – happy to use any plugin for this, they just need to go to ONE gallery. is this possible with postie?

If yes, please can you help me with the login issue i am facing. i have tried working it through with my web hosting company. I have created an email address with my web host, they have confirm ports that should work, and i have checked and rechecked the login details.

here’s the messages. Thanks for any help you can provide!

    Connect to Mail Host

    Postie connection: sockets
    Postie protocol: imap
    Postie server: mail.lcn.com
    Postie port: 26
    pConnection: mailbox: INBOX
    Connecting via Socket
    Socket: mail.lcn.com:26
    Socket error: 0 –
    Socket: IMAP
    socket write: (login) LOGIN/APOP/PASS
socket read (1) :554 SMTP synchronization error
Unable to connect. The server said: The username and password provided were not accepted for the IMAP server mail.lcn.com on port 26. 554 SMTP synchronization error
    Test complete

PS: I read over some other thread with connection issues, and i couldn’t follow them. Possibly you were exchanging messages offline?

Postie creates a new post for each email. That said you can extend Postie to do whatever you want.

Each gallery plugin has it’s own requirements for how to add an image, so you would need to explore that.

Additionally you’d need to figure out how you are going to differentiate the emails coming in so they get attached to the right gallery.

Based on https://www.lcn.com/support/articles/how-to-setup-pop-or-imap-email it looks to me like you are using the wrong port.
