• Hi. Running PHP 7.4 and WordPress 6.0.1. Had a writer write and schedule a post last night. I run a Discord bot that shows when posts are published, scheduled, and submitted for review that is very stable, and it showed the post was scheduled at 10:37 PM last night. Around midnight, I go looking for something else and didn’t see the post scheduled in Activity on the Dashboard. I go looking, nothing. It’s gone. I search the database, no traces.

This morning, I go to my WP account to check my activity log in Jetpack, and see the screenshot included. It shows the post (the URL to edit it at the bottom left is showing post ID 156776 – https://wordpress.com/edit/post/<timestamp>/156776) being scheduled at 10:37 PM last night. Then, at 12:15 AM this morning, another writer uploaded a featured image for his post, which shows this edit link URL: https://wordpress.com/edit/media/<timestamp>/156776. Same ID as the post that was scheduled more than an hour earlier.

That post is completely gone. It’s lost now, obviously, but this is a very bad thing to have happen. Site is stable, updated daily, and has been running without issue for three years on the current server, and 12 years on various servers. Plenty of traffic (a bad day is 5,000 hits). I’m the only admin and started coding for WP on version 2.5.

I searched the forums and Google and only found a reason to state that this post was not trashed, it was saved properly in the classic editor – as are all others on my site – and no plugins or themes were changed within the past week (two updates occurred to inactive plugins). The screenshot below confirms that I and my team did nothing to cause this.

This is a bug report, but original and relevant ideas are welcome.
