    Hi there,

I’m wondering if activating this plugin will conflict with some of the other plugins I have.

For instance, I already have the following active plugins:

    Jetpack
    Smush
    UpdraftPlus
    WP-DBManager

    (I also use Cloudflare CDN)

Could you please indicate if I need to delete any of the active plugins so that I can use W3 Total Cache.

    Thanks.

    Hello @droyed

Thank you for your question and I am happy to answer.
There are no know issues and all mentioned plugins are compatible with W3 Total Cache.
However, you should avoid using similar settings id different plugins to avoid conflict.
Jetpack – this plugin optimizes JS, CSS, and images if configured. It does that by serving them from their servers. In this case, the CSS and JS that are being served with Jetpack cannot be optimized by W3 Total Cache Minify and images cannot be converted to WepP

Smush – Avoid using Lazyloading and webp image conversion in both plugins. Choose which one suits you best.

UpdraftPlus – No known issues or compatibility issues with this plugin – I would also recommend you to consider using Total Upkeep – WordPress Backup Plugin instead.

WP-DBmanager – If you are using this plugin to optimize you database, you should avoid enabling DB Caching in W3 Total Cache to avoid conflict.

As for Cloudflare, W3 Total Cache has a Cloudflare extension in Performance>Extensions. One thing that you should avoid in this case is to use Both Cloudflare Minify and W3TC minify – Again to avoid any potential conflict.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks!

    Hi Marko @vmarko

    Thank you for your reply.

Yes, I have had issues with Jetpack/Smush conflict message, although I have ensured all the settings are appropriately checked/unchecked to avoid conflict. But I still get error messages about conflict every other day.

With UpdraftPlus and Total Upkeep (I have Total Upkeep Premium installed but not activated too), should I first de-activate UpdraftPlus and then activate Total Upkeep plugins?

Also, would W3 Total Cache replace WP-DBmanager or should I use it how you mentioned in your reply.

[Ideally, I would like to use minimum number of plugins that can help me with back ups, site stats, minified unnecessary stuff, speeds up the site, lazy loading, cache, etc.]

    Please advise. Thanks!

    Hello @droyed

    Thank you for yoru feedback.

I am not sure which are the conflict messages you are getting so please share the screenshot if related to W3 Total Cache and other plugins.
Both UpdraftPlus and Total Upkeep are backup plugins, so you should consider using only Total Upkeep for this.

W3 Total Cache has the Database caching feature. It’s recommended to use Memory based caching for Database caching like Redis or Memcached. You should check with your hosting provider if those are available on your server.

I understand your point and W3 Total Cache can replace all the mentioned plugins (Backup plugins excluded). W3 Total Cache can convert images to webp, and Lazyload images, however, there are some aspects of the SmushiT plugin that We Total Cache cannot do like image compression and image resize.

    I hope this helps!
    Thanks!
