While the plugin is active, Cloudflare is not able to detect Cloudflare’s WP plugin

That doesn’t really make any sense. This plugin doesn’t change anything about how your site outputs data. It literally just sends a ‘purge’ (aka flush) request to your own server when you update content.

You’d have to ask CloudFlare directly how it’s ‘checking’ for the plugin to be active.

Intermittently, over the last maybe 2 weeks, I have been having the same issue with Cloudflare not wanting to synchronize but their support has been useless, almost to the point of being intentionally obtuse.

2 weeks pre-dates any changes I’ve made to DreamPress or the plugin. That said… I did find an issue with the plugin and DreamPress’s changes last week. I pushed 5.0 to fix it. It may not help APO though, as I’ve not been able to reproduce that specific issue.

Just to loop back, I’m trying to get someone from CloudFlare to help, but yes, it looks like APO + Varnish + this plugin are not happy. I need a dev from their end, and I have no idea when they’ll get me one to work with 🙁

Meanwhile… We ran some updates on DreamHost that may have fixed this for you?
