The latest update of Speed Optimiser caused a critical error and crashed our websites, more than one, after the latest update of WordPress. We run sites with Elementor Pro and had to turn off JS, CSS and HTML compression options to be able to login to the sites. 2 really bad days of work disabling the plugins from our SiteGround account and trying to figure out the problem and it’s this SG plugin. Please update this plugin to be compatible with Elementor Pro 3.33.2 and the latest version of WordPress 6.9.

    Hello @kodako,

The latest version of the Speed Optimizer plugin (v7.7.5) is tested and confirmed to work with the latest version of the WordPress core (v6.9). You can also see this in the “Tested up to” field on the plugin’s page here.

Just in case, I installed a brand new WordPress application using the latest stable versions of the WordPress core, the Speed Optimizer plugin, and Elementor (v3.33.3). However, I was not able to spot any issues or errors while browsing through the website or creating a sample page.

I also checked our internal channels but I did not find any recently reported problems with the plugin and the latest version of WordPress. This leads me to believe that the reported issue is specific to your website(s) and its (their) setup. In order to investigate this further, however, we will need more detailed information like the exact error that you saw or instructions on how to recreate the issue on our end. If your website(s) are hosted with SiteGround, please post a Help Desk ticket through your SiteGround User Area and provide us with as much information as possible regarding the reported problem and how we may reproduce it.

In case you are experiencing problems with the frontend optimizations (CSS, JS, HTML minification, or CSS/JS combination), you can use the built-in exclude feature under each of those optimizations and exclude the specific script or stylesheet that is not compatible with the optimization feature. If the script/stylesheet in question is not listed in the exclude option, you can follow this guide on how to find its handle and exclude it with custom filters:

    Best regards,

Thanks Stanimir, all good now. Not sure what the problem was for two days but we’ve reactivated all the CSS, JS and HTML options this morning and all appears to be good on both sites. I can’t explain why it was not allowing us to login and why we had to deactivate all the plugins from our SG account to access the site.
