Some image uploads show an error “An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.” I find that the image is uploaded, but does not always appear in the media library, but is always in the uploads folder when looking via sftp. I found that if Jetpack or Imsanity is turned off the problem goes away, so that seems to suggest a conflict with Imsanity. I tried activating and deactivating some of the Jetpack modules but couldn’t pinpoint one as the cause.

I’ve also duplicated this on the Imsanity plugin support forum.

Jetpack itself doesn’t intervene during the image upload, so I’m afraid I won’t be able to help you there. One of Jetpack’s modules, Photon, downloads your images and serves images from the Photon CDN in your posts, but that only happens once the image is uploaded and even once the post has been published, on the front end of your site.

Imsanity might not be at play here either, since that error is actually quite common when uploading images that have a very large resolution and require a lot of memory to process and resize. It might be worth looking at the different solutions proposed in this thread, that may help you:

Thanks Jeremy, no biggy, I can always turn off Imsanity to make the problem go away, Jetpack always wins when there is a conflict 🙂 just thought it worth making you both aware.
