Can you please try disabling all other plugins except Yoast? Does it fix the issue? If it does, this could be caused by a plugin or theme conflict. Please run a conflict check.
Thanks
Yes that’s what I did and how I found out it was a conflict with Learndash.
I already spoke to them and they said its probably due to a recent update to your plugin because its been fine before.
Thanks
Based on the information you provided, we expect this to be a bug. We’re actively using the bug tracking on our GitHub repository so your best next step would be to create a new issue for our developers at https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/new. You will need an account to create a new issue. If this is your first bug report, please check out: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-write-a-good-bug-report/.
Don’t forget to include the URL to this conversation in your bug report.
Before opening a bug report, this might be something simpler. Text going vertical sometimes means you have more columns with data than the width of your window. We added new columns in the recent version. If you click on ‘Screen Options’ in the upper right corner and temporarily hide some columns, does the text return to horizontal?
Thanks I have taken some of the columns out and it fixed the issue. I now have Yoast activated and working
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone on this thread. I was having the same problem and am so glad to know now how to fix it. So grateful to have found this.
