Hello! I was so happy to find your Retina 2x plugin a couple of months ago. I want to make my sites retina-ready and your plugin does the job beautifully. And I have been using it on about five sites now. But I tried to use a new SEO plugin called “SEO Pressor.” I tested it on my own site before using it on other sites. As soon as I activated the plugin and added my activation code, the header image (my logo) on my site stopped calling up the retina image. My featured images in my blog images were also no longer calling up the retina images. I wrote to SEOPressor and this is what they said…

“we’ve fixed the issue, but updating the plugin may cause the issue to resurface.

The issue is with Retina 2x plugin, they are breaking down some of our functions, and we have no choice but to work around it for your version of the plugin.
But here’s the thing, we will not apply the workaround to the official version as it is a compromise to our code (less efficient codes).

For the time being, unless Retina 2x optimizes their plugin, it will clash with our official version.
And since we will be rolling out many updates in the coming days, customizing the plugin for one use case every time is not something we prefer.
So, if Retina 2x does not update as frequent as we are, it is actually better for them to optimize their code or customize you a version that does not clash with SEOPressor.

I hope you find this solution reasonable.”

I am paying for SEOPressor’s services… not a lot… only $9 a month… but I did want to be able to use their services. But I can find another SEO plugin to use instead if I have to. I say this because I don’t know of any other Retina plugin for WordPress. I would *really* like to be able to use *both* your Retina 2x plugin *and* SEOPressor. So… here’s the thing… SEOPressor is a lot of work. It’s about 4x the work on each page as a plugin like Yoast SEO. Plus I pay for it. So… I don’t want to do all the work of optimizing each page of my site – and my client’s sites (x50+sites!) and pay for their services if I don’t know if it will play nicely with Retina 2x. I have three sites that I needed to optimize today. Is there any way that you can look into what they’re saying about your code and get back to me? I really want to use your plugin. If I have to use a different SEO plugin, I need to know so that I can get my work done. I hope this issue can be worked out so that I can use both. Thanks so much. If you need access to my site, I will happily give it to you.

I just realized that I didn’t give you a URL where you can see my site with both SEOPressor and Retina 2x is use. I made a copy of my site. It’s located at http://mfcopy1.wpengine.com

I cancelled my account with SEOPressor. So I’m all set.

Sorry for the late, very late reply 🙁 I was on holidays, back to my hometown.

I know you cancelled your account with SEOPressor but I wonder. Did they give you more information about:

The issue is with Retina 2x plugin, they are breaking down some of our functions, and we have no choice but to work around it for your version of the plugin.

I don’t really see how it could happen, so I am curious. Maybe they could mention which functions. That could affect other things and plugins so I’d better know 🙂

Cheers and sorry again for the delay.

Hi Jordy! That’s all that they said. But meantime, a friend had a problem with the SEOPressor plugin as well… he said “it doesn’t support PHP 7 until the next major version (could be a while) making it unusable for me.”

Plus, when I tried setting an image (my client’s logo) as the fallback image for sharing the site or posting a link anywhere… it posted me a blank – not the logo. So… I decided to just give up.

Mmm, okay I see. Looks like they aren’t really ready :/ Let’s close this topic for now, if somebody finds out something then let’s see if I can do something about it. But since the plugin works with other SEO plugins, I am not sure if what they do is right :/
