The Events Calendar plugin is rendering the events calendar, as well as individual event listing pages, incorrectly.

The calendar view begins with the heading “Archive: Events”,  followed by the details of the most recently added event.

Changing the Events Template setting to “default page template” causes the calendar to display almost normally – it just still had the undesired “Archive: Events” heading at the top.

However, making that change also causes the individual event listings to lose their formatting (e.g. all the location, cost, organizer, etc. details from the bottom of the listing).  So now I can switch back and forth between “default page template” and “default event template” and have either the individual postings or the overall calendar looking almost normal, but not both at the same time.

Deactivating UpSolution Core resolves the issue, but causes many other undesired changes in the appearance of both the events calendar/event postings and the rest of the site.

    UpSolution Core Version 8.36.1

WordPress 6.8.1 running Impreza Child theme

    Hi @wharris ,

    Thank you for reaching out.

Some themes do not recognize The Events Calendar’s events archive (or calendar) page, as it is dynamically generated. The following knowledge base article may provide further insights and hopefully a solution: Remove “Archives” From the Calendar Page Title.

    Thanks @tristan083,

I appreciate the pointer. I did review the article you link to prior to posting. However, since a) the issue is with specific event postings as well as the main calendar page, and b) we have been using this theme/plugin combination for some time (multiple years) without this issue, I wonder whether something else may be causing it.

    Hi @wharris ,

Thank you for your message and the information.

Do you happen to have The Events Calendar template overrides in place on your theme — tribe or tribe-events folders in /wp-content/themes/[your-theme-folder]/? If you do, have you tried temporarily renaming those folders to see if it alleviates the situation?

    Thread Starter wharris

    (@wharris)

    No folders by that name.

There are files named tribe-events.css and tribe-events.min.css in the parent theme directory.

    Hi @wharris ,

Thank you for your message and for confirming that no The Events Calendar template overrides are in place on your site.

Does the issue persist when running your site with just the Impreza parent theme, UpSolution Core Version 8.36.1, and The Events Calendar Version 6.13.2.1 (all other plugins deactivated)?

Yes, I confirm that the issue persists with just the Impreza parent theme, UpSolution Core Version 8.36.1, and The Events Calendar Version 6.13.2.1 (all other plugins deactivated).

    Hi @wharris

We released an update for The Events Calendar plugin on June 5th. Was this around the time you first started noticing the issue? Additionally, do you recall if there was a recent update to the UpSolution Core plugin?

We’re trying to narrow down when the issue began and identify what changes may have triggered it. Any details you can provide would be helpful for the investigation.

Additionally, it may be helpful to reach out to the UpSolution Core plugin support team. They might have received similar reports and could potentially offer a workaround or further insight into the issue.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi Darian,

The issue began ~0115 CDT 30 May. UpSolution Core had been the most recent plugin to update before that, on 29 May (8.36). There’s been one update since then (8.36.1, 02 June), through which the issue persisted as before.

The issue hadn’t appeared between the 27 May The Events Calendar update and the 29 May UpSolution Core update, and the 03 June and 05 June The Events Calendar updates have not resolved/altered the issue.

    Thanks!

    Hi @wharris

    Thanks for your response.

I understand. Based on the date you mentioned, it seems the versions that were working correctly are:

As a potential workaround, could you try downgrading to those versions and see if that resolves the issue on your end? Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks Darian,

We do not have Event Tickets installed.

I have rolled The Events Calendar back to version 6.13.1, but the same issue persists.

    Hi @wharris ,

Thank you for your message and the information.

It’s interesting to know that the issue has not been alleviated with the rollback of The Events Calendar to version 6.13.1. Are you able to rollback UpSolution Core plugin to a version prior to 8.36.1?

    Thread Starter wharris

    (@wharris)

    Hello tristan083,

    Thanks for your response.

I don’t see a rollback option for the UpSolution Core plugin. As noted earlier in the thread, deactivating UpSolution Core altogether did resolve the issue.

Yesterday I ran the latest update to UpSolution Core (to Version 8.36.2).

This did not alter the appearance of the calendar page (i.e. the unwanted “Archive: Events” header text still appears at the top of the page). It did restore the location, contact, price, etc. information to the bottom of the individual event posts, but it also added a larger version of the featured image (in addition to the smaller one normally displayed above the event title) at the top of the page.

    My issue sounds the same.

I am currently running Impreza 8.36.1 and UpSolutions Core 8.36.2 along with The Events Calendar 6.13.2.1. I am not running Events Ticketing.

My upcoming events listing has begun only showing the event with the oldest start date. (Or something like that — I am not sure of the logic.) Individual pages display as expected.

At this page I have 8 events that should list, but it displays the single oldest-start-date event. https://sewallhouse.com/events/list/

When I switch from Impreza to the Twenty Twenty-Four theme, and leave everything else the same, the events list displays as expected.

    Hi @wharris ,

Thank you for your message and the information.

At this point, I would recommend reaching out to your theme’s support for further guidance, as downgrading The Events Calendar to a prior version didn’t seem to have alleviated the situation (which should have if the issue was caused by changes of The Events Calendar plugin).
