The plugin Members version 3.1.3 directly conflicts with Simple:Press. For example, the module Private Messaging in Simple:Press is rendered inoperative, including a blank settings panel when the Members plugin General settings Capabilities: “Denied capabilities should always overrule granted capabilities” is selected active.

Members Version 3.1.3 hasn’t been updated in 4 months, therefore it probably needs some updates. If anyone else uses MemberPress with Members, this one settings option cripples Simple:Press forum plugins and some of it’s posting functions.

    Hi @artiosmedia

Can you send step by step instruction on how to replicate this so I’ll see what’s going on?

    Hi

Members also conflicts with bbpress. Should I make another thread about that?

    Regards

@caseproof As far as the conflict, what I typed out is exactly how to replicate the problem.

Member plugin > General Settings > Capabilities: “Denied capabilities should always overrule granted capabilities” if selected active is the conflict, so deactivating it removes the conflict. There should be a warning it will conflict with Simple:Press, utterly disabling module options like Private Messaging. Install Simple:Press (plugin already sent to MemberPress support), add the Private Messaging plugin (simplepress-premium-installer.zip\premium-installer\resources\plugins), click Options on that plugin, there is nothing to select. Disable Member plugin, options then will work.

I don’t have any more to offer than that. Very easy to replicate based on first post.

@artiosmedia I don’t know SimplePress plugin so that’s why I asked you for more details on how to replicate this issue. It seems that Private Messaging module in SimplePress is a paid add-on. I don’t have access to this add-on so can’t debug what is the cause of this issue. I’ll send your suggestions about adding a warning to our developers for their review.

@ritailsted Can you open a new ticket and provide more details on how to replicate this conflict?
