So I really like using Jetpack app on my iPhone, to write, edit posts as the user experience is significantly better than doing them on a mobile browser.

However, it doesn’t let me have access to my wordpress site with solid security plugin installed. It works without any issues when solid security is deactivated.

Is there any settings I can change to grant me access to my site on Jetpack app?

by the way, i have xmlrpc enabled from both my hosting and from the solid security app

Hi @onewaylove, glad you reached out! I see enabling access to xmlrpc.php did not help.

Does it help if you clear the Jetpack app’s cache and possibly remove the link to your site and link again?

If not, please these adjustments one at a time:

    • Allowing Default Access to the REST API in Security> Settings > Features > Advanced > WordPress Tweaks
    • Adding Jetpack’s IP addresses to the Authorized IPs list in Security > Settings > Global Settings
    • Disabling the Default Ban List in Security > Settings > Features > Firewall > Ban Users – Default Ban List
    • Disabling the Disable PHP in Plugins in Security > Settings > Features > Advanced > System Tweaks – PHP Execution

Please let me know how it goes.

    1. Does it help if you clear the Jetpack app’s cache and possibly remove the link to your site and link again? -> No it doesn’t. I cannot link since I can’t sign in due to xmlrpc error
    2. Allowing Default Access to the REST API in Security> Settings > Features > Advanced > WordPress Tweaks -> this setting was already done
    3. Adding Jetpack’s IP addresses to the Authorized IPs list in Security > Settings > Global Settings -> this would be my home address, since I was trying this at home. and my home ip address is already authorized/whitelisted
    4. Disabling the Default Ban List in Security > Settings > Features > Firewall > Ban Users – Default Ban List -> this is already disabled by default.
    5. Disabling the Disable PHP in Plugins in Security > Settings > Features > Advanced > System Tweaks – PHP Execution -> This is also already unchecked.

The only other reason I can think of is I’m using the “hide backend?” <- confirmed this wasn’t the reason.

Now it’s username/password is wrong. but if I disable solid security, i can sign in with the exact same login credentials

Hi @onewaylove, thanks for sending the details!

I’d still recommend proceeding with adding Jetpack’s IP addresses to the Authorized IPs, in addition to your home IP address.

Do you have Solid Security’s CAPTCHA enabled? Does it help if you turn it off? If not, I’d also suggest trying to disable all your currently active Solid Security features one at a time, to isolate the module where the conflict happens.

Looking forward to hearing how it goes.

it’s due to two factor authentication under settings-features-login security

Hi @onewaylove, I appreciate the update!

Are you using Jetpack’s Secure Sign On feature? It’s likely causing the conflict as it enforces log-in via WordPress.com and not the default login page (which Solid Security uses).

If that’s the case, Jetpack’s SSO has a 2FA option, so I’d suggest using either Solid Security or Jetpack 2FA depending on your preference.

I’m not sure what you mean by secure sign on feature.

I’m only using the Jetpack app on iPhone to sign in.

I don’t have the plugin installed on my self hosted wordpress site.
