confused difference subscribers lists

    Under MailPoets tab: ‘subscribers, there appears to be two ‘lists’:
    – Newsletter subscribers
    and
    – WordPress users with a status ‘subscribers’.

    Who are this second group? They subscribed to what? did they or did they not subscribe to the newsletter?
    – if they did, why are they called wordpress users?
    – if they are not, why do they at all appear in Mailpoets list?
