Throughout the back end of our site we see a message “Your site is not connected with Broken Link Checker. Connect now to start scanning for broken links and fix them to improve your SEO.”

If I click on that link or manually go to settings, I see “Throughout the back end of our site we see a message “Your site is not connected with Broken Link Checker. Connect now to start scanning for broken links and fix them to improve your SEO.”

If I click on that link or manually go to settings, I see “Your account is connected” .

Not only contradictory, but impossible to actually connect the account.

Presumably this is a protest against me cancelling the paid link checks, but so much for the 250 free checks each month.

Removing this plugin now, as this was the last straw with it (false positives, credit card details required, taking payment without clarity on the need…)

Sorry, I don’t know why there is duplication – ignore that second paragraph as I can’t go back in to tedit!

    Hi @tashword ,

I’m really sorry for the frustration here, I can completely understand how confusing that message must feel when it’s saying two different things.

This isn’t expected behavior, and it’s definitely not related to cancelling paid link checks. You should still be able to use the free checks without any issue, so something else is going on here.

To help me look into this properly, could you please share your site URL?

Once I have that, I’ll check what’s happening with your connection/license from our end and figure out why you’re seeing that conflicting message. If there’s anything stuck or misconfigured, I’ll guide you on fixing it right away.

Appreciate you flagging this, and I’ll do my best to get this sorted for you quickly.

    Hi @tashword ,

We haven’t heard back from you in a couple of days. I’m going to go ahead and close this thread for now. But if you’d like us to assist, please feel welcome to continue the conversation.
    Thanks!
