Hi there,

I have installed MSLS on a WP-multisite, but can get it working on only one of (currently) two sites in the network.

The posts and pages of one blog are correctly displayed (and can be connected/ saved) in the page editor of the other blog, but it doesn’t work the other way around. At the other blog, I get the message “To achieve maximum flexibility, you have to configure each blog separately.” (but in a different language).

Additional info:
– .mo / .po files are in place
– the language has been selected under ‘settings’ for both blogs
– the user has appropriate admin rights.

I’ve read several support threads & installation guide, but am stuck on what to try next. Any tips?

Are you using to different users?

I’ve tried both – with different users and with the same user.

Use one user at the beginning and make the configuration in both blogs then you’ll see that it will work as expected.

I tried it with one user at first.

I had to re-install the plugin once, because the .mo files were not in place yet. Is everything deleted when re-installing and, if not, could this be causing the problem?

There is no problem if you decide to install other languages later. In that case you don’t need to reinstall anything – just reload it in your browser. Do you know this post here?

Yes I do, I followed the instructions listed at https://github.com/lloc/Multisite-Language-Switcher/wiki/Plugin-installation-and-activation

Is there anything else that might be causing this?

Yes, you save the configuration in every blog? If no, do that first – if yes, print the link to your site here so I can see maybe what’s going on.

Your network is configured with subdomains, isn’t it? And you use the Domain Mapper Plugin, right?

And right now there is just one admin for these 2 blogs configured?

Do you mean admin user or admin interface? MSLS has been configured via ‘WP Admin -> Settings’ for both blogs.

No, I mean 1 admin user or do you have more then one? This is what I meant in the second question.

Ah, ok. There are multiple admins. The plugin has been installed and configured by the same admin user, though.

OK, the current version takes the first admin user to create the blog collection. But there is a workaround. Read on here:
