Yes, this is exactly what I reported several days ago. If you use Firefox or chrome and you turn on the Inspector and you selct the Network tab and refresh the page, you will see this. Initially, it looks OK, but as soon as you click into the post editor, the next ajax call fails in a 500 error and then any work you do cannot be saved, because none of the buttons work.
That sounds like a plugin or theme conflict. Can you try and gather as much information for us as possible? Please perform the following:
1. Make sure the issue doesn’t persist when Yoast SEO is disabled.
2. Check for conflicts.
3. Check for JavaScript errors with your console.
If you find any JavaScript errors related to Yoast SEO or if there is a conflict with a plugin or a theme, you can create a new GitHub issue for our developers. Please report the issue to a third party developer as well.
If you didn’t find any conflicts or errors, we think the issue is specific to your site. We’d need to investigate further but are unable to do so on these forums. You can purchase Yoast SEO Premium and receive our Premium email support and we can help you further.
Thank you, @mazedulislamkhan
1. Yoast triggers the problem, no doubt.
2. No conflicts.
3. No javascript errors explicitly mentioning Yoast but I haven’t got enough knowledge to know if any of the errors there are related to Yoast in spite of not showing the word” name “Yoast”.
So, this is way too much for me, and I’m not the type of user that buys premium in order to (possibly) solve an issue found while using the free version. I always (almost) start with free and move forward to premium because I’me satisfied, not because I have to solve a problem.
I’m sorry for that, in this website Yoast will have to be dismissed.
For the sake of honesty, I’m not saying that Yoast is to blame for the problem. It may be something with the theme or with the hosting, but…
Thank you anyway,
João silva
P.S. (only in the spirit of sharing the experience in case this is a useful information): Tried The SEO Framework, works OK, and ALL IN ONE SEO, works OK.
I’ve got the same problem for 4 dqys. My website is very slow. I’ve seen in my hosting account i’ve had very long sql request timing and ajax call fails in logs.
To find the extension which is the problem i’ve disabled them one and one. When i active Yoast the website is slow instantly. I use it for the launch of the website and for a long time with others extensions and there were no problem. So it’s not a compatibility problem.
I hope you’ll find quickly a solution. Use another plugin will be disastrous for me because my website has got more than 500 pages) :/
We apologize for any inconvenience. A bug report is currently open in our development repository for the slowness issue that you can find and follow the progress of the report here https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/9170. We recommend you please submit as much information as you can on the GitHub issue so our development team can investigate this issue further.
This should be addressed in the Yoast SEO v7.1 scheduled for release Tuesday next week. When the update is released, please update your plugin and see if this resolves the issue.
Ok, thank you for your feedback.
@jerparx, updated to Yoast SEO v7.1 but the issue persists.
