    Well, they are really two completely different plugins which serve different purposes so it is hard to really compare the two. If you looking to really beef up the core WordPress registered users profile page and registration, go with UserPro. If you looking to build a directory that is not specifically tied to WordPress registered users, then go with Connections. Now if you want a directory but need your registered users to be able to edit their own entry, go with Connections … you’ll need at least the Link extension though.
