Hi! Thanks for using Postman! Sorry you’re having trouble.
Http Error 403 is a firewall problem. It means your host has forbidden you from creating the connection to googleapis.com.
Does this issue prevent the Wizard from running?
Even if it does, you should still be able to configure the plugin using Manually Configure. See https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/postman-smtp/installation/
Thank you very much for quick response. I will check with the host.
Again, thank you.
FYI: the plugin works fine. It just does not connect to the mail server.
The screenshot you showed me was for the Connectivity Test, which obviously failed.
Please tell me, did the Setup Wizard also fail?
It just does not connect to the mail server.
It will if you input your SMTP settings manually, using Configure Manually.
The setup wizard worked fine until the connectivity test. It was the same result.
….in saying: the connectivity test failed in both wizard and manual setup.
@tkgnewseed, odd there is no connectivity test for manual setup.
This is a severe failure. May I have access to your server? You may contact me privately if you are interested.
It’s not my server but I will ask the owner.
What did you mean by this:
Http Error 403 is a firewall problem. It means your host has forbidden you from creating the connection to googleapis.com.
Is this suppose to connect to googleapis.com? If so, why?
The Wizard tries to connect to googleapis on port 443, because that’s how i test to see if you can use any web API like Gmail, Mandrill, Sengrid, Amazon, etc.
Http Error 403 means your host killed the Postman request abnormally – and the plugin is not able to handle that (yet). Normally I either get connected, or not connected, but never error 403. that’s new.
