    Hi,

A have a few questions regarding ordering and Consent Mode v2 if that’s OK:

    1) When using the plugin, I have

    Consent mode firing first
    then CookieYes
    then Tag Manager.

    The doc here: https://www.cookieyes.com/documentation/google-consent-mode-v2-integration-with-cookieyes-wordpress-plugin/

    says

‘Ensure that the scripts are loaded in the following order for proper functionality:

    1. Custom Consent Mode script
    2. gtag / GTM script
    3. CookieYes script

Maintaining this sequence is essential for the correct operation of the functionality.’

I raised this in another post last year, and was told ‘Please make sure that the Custom Consent Mode script is added before gtag / GTM script. The order of CookieYes script won’t be an issue while using plugin.’

I’m just checking that this is still the case and what I have is correct!

    2) Do we need to fire Google Tags before consent in CookieYes settings?

    3) On sites that use Site Kit, they have this in header:

‘Google Analytics opt-out snippet added by Site Kit’

Do I need to disable that and let let Consent Mode handle it?

    Hi @stephenbbs,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

Please make sure that you have placed the Custom Consent Mode script above the CookieYes script by adding it above the wp_head() function in your active child theme’s header.php file.

Since you are using the Site kit plugin to add GTM, you can enable the option “Allow Google tags to fire before consent” from CookieYes dashboard > Advanced Settings > Google consent mode (GCM), and now the order of the GTM script won’t be an issue.

Regarding the ‘Google Analytics opt-out snippet added by Site Kit’, we don’t know about its working along with consent mode. After making the above changes, please share your site URL so that we can check the working closely on your site.
