Consent reset

Newest update says “Consent bar will always be reset when consent is added/updated” and in source code I see “wpgdprcData.consentVersion” is added to the cookie. Do this mean that all my visitors has to reaccept policy and store new cookie if I update the plugin to newest version? Or do the updated version also read old cookies without “wpgdprcData.consentVersion” from earlier version?
