Hi. I’ve already rated the plugin, yet I constantly keep getting popups on the admin pages asking to rate it

Am hoping it’s just a bug that can be fixed, otherwise if this is normal then I’ll have to remove Defender

    Hi @stevovo384,

Sorry to hear about that, it shouldn’t be showing up popups once it’s dismissed. I gave a quick test in my system but wasn’t able to replicate such behaviour.

Are you using the latest version of Defender? Could we know you notice the popup on every Defender page or is it with any specific page in Defender? One of the common reasons for such an issue to occur would be due to Object cache.

Could you please double-check whether your server has an object cache enabled? If yes, could you please check whether clearing the Object cache resolves the issue or not?

You might have to double-check with your hosting provider in case there is Object cache enabled or not.

If the issue is still the same even with Object Cache cleared then please do share a screenshot of what you notice on your side, so that we could have a better idea.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Kind Regards,
    Nithin

    Hi

    Yes using latest version. I’ve also tried clearing the cache as well as turning it off with define(‘WP_CACHE’, false);

This is the screenshot of the message

It’s showing on every single admin page (themes page, comments page, settings, dashbaord etc)

    Hi @stevovo384

    Thank you for the information.

The object cache is more a server-side caching, could you verify if your hosting provider has this option available to flush too?

    Best Regards

    Hi

It’s a dedicated server instance on AWS so I’m not sure what cache to clear

    Hi @stevovo384

It depends on what type of caching it has configured.

For example, if you are familiar with terminal you can attempt the wp cache flush command if you have the WPCLI:

    https://developer.ww.wp.xz.cn/cli/commands/cache/flush/

In some cases it is a Redis cache so you can follow this https://redis.io/commands/FLUSHALL

I suggest checking with the AWS support to confirm which type of caching you have on your server and how to clear it in case there is no option on the hosting portal.

Let us know the result you got.
    Best Regards

    Hi @stevovo384

I hope you are doing well and safe!

We haven’t heard from you in a while, I’ll mark this thread as resolved.

Feel free to let us know if you have any additional questions or problems.

I have the same issue and it is not to do with object caching.
Is there any other way to get rid of the message keep appearing, like a php entry for not showing this notification to rate.

I use the multisite plugin and have three sites.

    Hello @poescp !

I’m very sorry to hear that you’re experiencing a similar issue!

In order for us to help you out, please open a new ticket as we’d prefer to check the issue on a 1:1 basis – even though the issue seems to be the same, it may have different causes so it’s better to have a separate ticket for each person.

Where is the link to the Ticket Issuing, as I am talking about the free Defender version. I do not have WPMUD installed to raise a ticket over the backend of WP

    Hi @poescp,

You don’t need WPMU DEV account for help with free products, you can open a separate ticket on these support forums here https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/plugin/defender-security/#new-post

    Cheers,
    Predrag
