    Hi Andrew,

I am in need of a plugin for a simple contact form and I wonder if you know of one that works well with your theme. I have used Fast Secure Contact Form in the past, but I see it is no longer in the repository due to a new owner re-writing it with ads or something. I tried one from WPBeginners, but so far it’s not working, so I thought I’d ask you if you could recommend one. Thanks in advance!

  • Hi @terry777

    Great to hear from you.

I must admit that for personal and client work, I haven’t tried many because I pay for a Gravity Forms license so that’s always my go to. I have used Contact Form 7 in the past, I know it’s a classic now but perhaps worth a look? Perhaps Ninja Forms using the base version with no addons? That’s free. And then on the very base level, SiteOrigin has a contact form widget but it doesn’t log form entries so if you need that logging then it’s out.

(I use WP Mail SMTP with Gmail. That’s worth setting up and can often increase deliverability.)

Let me know how you come along with this. Happy to help further where-ever possible 🙂

Thanks for getting back to me. I tried Ninja on a test installation of mine that has Ultra, and it worked, so it might have something to do with the host, since neither Ninja or WPforms worked on that host.

Sure 🙂 If possible, try and separate email delivery issues from form issues. Does the WordPress password reset email work on those sites? WP Mail SMTP plugin is a good way of removing PHP mail from the equation.
