    Hello,

I am reading a lot of different ways to make it work and i was wondering if you can post a step by step…

    1) What should the code be under additional settings?
    on_sent_ok: “dataLayer.push({‘event’:’contactForm7Submitted’})” ?
Or is it a different line? Would like to have an event name, category, action and label

    2) Are we setting up a GA tag with the same event name, category, action and label? or is it Form Submit Listener?

    3) Rules –
a)All Pages (or to limit to a specific page but i understand this part)
    b) event equals gtm4wp.contactForm7Submitted

    4) When setting up the conversation/goal i’m assuming we need to match the same vent name, category, action and label we had in the GA and the Additional Settings in CF7?

As a final note if successful i’m assuming that when looking at Real Time GA screen i will see 0 events when i as on the page with the form and only see 1 event once i click on submit. Currently i see always an active event even before i hit submit. Is that normal?

Thank you in advance for clearing this up. I look forward using your plug in more. currently i am testing it on http://www.cyjretreats.org/testcontactform/

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Normally you do not have to add anything to the additional settings of WPCF7 since my plugin attaches the necessary events without further need of coding by yourself.

You do not need to setup any listener in GTM as well, you only need to create a rule: {{event}} equals ‘gtm4wp.contactForm7Submitted’

You can create any tag that fits your needs, not just Analytics tags. You may fire an AdWords conversion code or a Facebook conversion tag, whatever.

    All-in-all:
    1) do not add anything to the additional settings of WPCF7
    2) do not use any form listener in GTM
    3) only use a simple rule as described above

    That’s it 🙂

That’s extremely helpful! Ended up deactivating the plug in and did it the “old fashion way” but the above steps will make life so much easier!
