    hi,

recently we did update of wordpress and plugins. contact-form-7 is not working good, we have always red border.

    wordpress version – 5.9.1
    contact-form-7 – 5.5.6

I can send email via plugin “WP mail SMTP”. It is ok.
I tried to downgrade contact-form-7 back to 5.2.2. Still same problem with red border.

Do you have idea what can I check now ? I dont want to downgrade of wordpress version

  • Hi

    Re: Contact Form 7 5.5.6, WordPress 5.8.3

I am also now getting the same Red Bordered error message “There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.” with every form on my site.

Troubleshooting documentation suggests it may be related to default server “wp-mail”.

Am using Easy WP SMTP 1.4.7 to send email via another server and was working fine.

Would appreciate some help. Thank you.

I am still experiencing the errors.
I have reviewed and updated to WordPress 5.9.1.
All plug-ins and themes are up-to-date.
    Have checked settings against documentation.
    Tried all suggested troubleshooting options.
On the website none of the contact forms will submit.
Have tried numerous devices and email addresses etc.
They all get the same error message.
My domain-linked email server is sending/receiving without issue.
Other email notifications are being received from the site.
Please can you suggest a fix.

Hi, my coworker decide to use other “contactform”, I dont know which one. Now it is working very well.

    Thanks @namsystems 🙂

I gave up on Contact Form 7 plugin and deleted it.

I am now using a different plugin, have recreated all my forms using exactly the same email settings and it works a charm.
