    example
    Hello everyone.

I’m new to WP and I am trying to set up the info for Contact Form 7.
I’ve tried following the examples, but I must be doing something basically wrong.

I have an email address that is hosted on Go-daddy under my domain. I do get an auto response when submitting the form but I have not received any emails.

    What am I doing wrong?

    to: (email redacted)

    from: [_site_title] <(email redacted)>

    subject: [_site_title] “[your-subject]”

    Message body

    From: [your-name] <[your-email]>
    Subject: [your-subject]

I guess the question is under the mail tab do I fill in the field exactly like the example with all the quotes brackets and arrows?

    To: my email goes here

    From: [_site_title] <my email goes here>

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thanks but I’ve already been through that and I don’t understand it. That’s why I am posting here.

Can you look at the example link and tell me if I have the right settings please?

    Hello @starmedia,

The code you left in the first message appears to be okay, but we need to see the content of your Form tab too in order to check if both form tags and mail tags are set.

On the other hand, can you please check in your spam folder? You may be using the same email address for From: and To: fields and most email server detect this as possible spam messages.

    Best regards,
    Yordan.

Okay I feel like a shcnoob..they were sitting in the spam folder 🙁

I just have to figure out how to stop that from happening in Outlook.

Thanks so much for helping me with this!

    Hello @starmedia,

Do you know why I knew that? Because it also happened to me: no one is born learned! 😉

To try to prevent your emails treated as spam, please use a different address for the From: field (e.g. [email protected]).

As final advice, I recommend you learn how to set up SMTP with WordPress, this will help you avoid having your messages treated as spam even more. This is a useful video that teaches how to do it: How To Setup WordPress SMTP For Sending Emails

    Best regards,
    Yordan.
