Thank you for reporting this.
It sounds like there might be an incompatibility with another plugin.
Would it be possible for you to go to the Edit Page screen, open the browser console (usually by pressing F12), and then reload the screen (F5)? Then you should be able to see any errors on that page, along with the full path and name of the plugin causing the error.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this.
Hi! Thanks for getting back to me.
Plugin incompatablity was one of my first guesses. So I disabled all the plugins but it didn’t fix it. I tried your suggestions^^ but nothing happened (?).
I think perhaps there could be an issue with Woosidebars. It came bundled with the theme. I deactivated it and I no longer saw the Sidebars Quick Select feature on the right hand column.
Any ideas?
What is the name of your theme (and did you recently update it), and are you using the latest version of WooCommerce?
Can you show me a screenshot of how Sidebars – Quick Select looks like, or is it completely missing now? You can use imgur.com to upload images.
@intoxstudio: Thanks so much for replying. Answers to your quetsions:
1) Theme is a childtheme of the Canvas theme. It is quite an old theme and has not been recently updated.
2) I think I’m using the latest version of Woosiderbars. It’s version 1.4.3 and there is nothing saying the plugin needs to be updated.
3) I uploaded the images (https://imgur.com/aKqarqQ and https://imgur.com/zeIB1ZS). I showed what it looks like with Woosidebars activated (Quick Select completely missing) and with Woosidebars activated. When Woosidebars is activated Quick Select appears, but none of my sidebars show up. Here is a third screenshot I uploaded, demonstrating that I did create the sidebars and populate them correctly. https://imgur.com/IAW6lLQ
What do you think is happening?
Thank you,
Mary Clare
Thank you for the screenshots, it definitely helps me to understand the problem.
1)
Does your theme have any built-in sidebars? If yes, these are apparently not “recognized” by Quick Select. I have a new version of the plugin coming out very soon that will be better to find theme sidebars.

Normally you wouldn’t need to use both WooSidebars and Content Aware Sidebars as they have similar functions.
I think the reason Quick Select appears with WooSidebars activated is that the plugin “thinks” that sidebars created with WooSidebars are actually theme sidebars.
Quick Select would normally be hidden if it can’t find any theme sidebars. So I think this is the problem, and hopefully it will be resolved in the next version.
In the meantime, you should still be able to manage your sidebars and where to display them from the Sidebar Edit screen (click on the gear icon in your 3rd screenshot).
Despite Quick Select not working, does any of the sidebars you created not work as expected?
Hi! Thanks again for your help- excellent support with this plugin and I will spread the word!!
1) Yes the theme has one sidebar called Primary
3) No- none of the sidebars I created with Content Aware Sidebars display. However I am a bit confused that you ask this as all the plugin documentation says to display the sidebars on specific pages I have to select them in Quick Select (https://dev.institute/docs/content-aware-sidebars/getting-started/display-sidebar-simple/).
Am I missing something? Because I don’t care at all about Quick Select not working if I can manage the sidebars by clicking on the gear icon in the Sidebar edit screen. But I tried that and it doesn’t work
PS: Here is the website if that helps http://masteradmissions.com/

I can see how that article can be confusing. “Quick Select” is just one way to quickly add a sidebar to a specific post or page when editing/publishing them.
If you follow the example for “Sidebar for Blog and All Posts” on the link you provided, you can use that same way to add a sidebar on specific posts.
Please let me know where you want to display a sidebar, and I will help you set it up (without Quick Select for now).
