• Thank you, Thomas, for a great plugin! I’ve successfully installed and connected your plugin, GTM, GA and our website.

I’m trying to track the performance of certain content categories versus others. I’ve enabled the posttypes options under “Basic Data.” I’m stumped about where to go now to start connecting categories to goals. Any good resources or tips you can point me to?

    Many thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Thanks for using my plugin, I am really happy to have you as a user!

First of all you should make yourself comfortable with the concept of data layer and data layer variables:
    https://developers.google.com/tag-manager/devguide

My plugin adds a datalayer variable named pagePostType when you enable that option. You can read the value using a ‘Data Layer Variable’ type variable in GTM. After this, you can add this new variable for example in the content grouping option of a GA tag.

You can use the ‘Group by Tracking Code’ solution described here:

    Does this help you?

    Thomas
