I reached out to the AI chat yesterday with an issue that occurs using the content ticker, set on Events. I have two events set with different tags, and have the tags plugged into the tags field. It was working, but now it only slides the first one in the list over and over again, it does not rotate through the tags/events. If I change the order of the tags in the tags field/block, the one now in the first position becomes the only one that repeatedly slides inthe published ticker.

    Your AI responded:
It seems like there might be an issue with the slider settings or the configuration of the tags/events in your content ticker. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

    Check Slider Settings:

    • Go to the Slider Settings under the General Tab.
    • Ensure that options like Autoplay, Infinite, and Pause on Hover are enabled. These settings control the rotation and behavior of the slider.

    Verify Tags Configuration:

    • Double-check that the tags you’ve added to the tags field match the tags assigned to your events. Any mismatch could cause the ticker to malfunction.

    Content Source:

    • Ensure that the content source is set correctly (either Custom or Dynamic) under the News Settings section.

    Update and Save:

    • After making changes, update and save the page to ensure the settings are applied.

    Clear Cache:

    • If you’re using a caching plugin, clear the cache to ensure the latest changes are reflected.

If the issue persists, you may need to re-add the events or tags to the ticker to reset its functionality. Let me know if you need further assistance! 😊

    I replied:
It did not resolve it. Sometimes when I go to the page in edit in elementor, it shows it rotating through the two events, but it does not in the live site. Also, if I make any changes in the edit page, it begins only rescrolling the first one in the list even in the edit page.

    AI chat response:
It sounds like the issue might be related to caching or a conflict between Elementor and the content ticker. Here are some additional steps to troubleshoot:

    Clear All Caches:

    • Clear your browser cache, WordPress cache, and any caching plugin you might be using (e.g., WP Rocket, W3 Total Cache).
    • If your hosting provider has server-side caching, clear that as well.

    Check for Plugin Conflicts:

    • Temporarily deactivate other plugins to see if there’s a conflict causing the issue.
    • Reactivate them one by one to identify the problematic plugin.

    Update Plugins and Themes:

    • Ensure that Elementor, the content ticker plugin, and your theme are all updated to their latest versions.

    Regenerate CSS and Data:

    • Go to Elementor > Tools in your WordPress dashboard.
    • Click on Regenerate CSS and Sync Library.

    Test in Incognito Mode:

    • Open your site in an incognito/private browsing window to rule out browser caching issues.

    Check Console for Errors:

    • Open your browser’s developer tools (usually by pressing F12) and check the Console tab for any JavaScript errors on the live site.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be a bug with the content ticker or Elementor. You can check the Essential Addons for Elementor documentation for further guidance or updates. Let me know if you need more help! 😊

Me: I executed those proposed resolutions but they did not resolve it.
I never solved the issue with the content ticker working off tagged events. It would show correctly functioning in the elementor edit screen (unless I made any change), but on the published site will only scroll the first tagged event in the tagged field list.

Giving up on making tags work, as a work around, instead of using tags, I simply created an event category, marked the two events I want on the ticker with that category, took the tags out of the ticker, and added the category to the ticker category field. That worked.

I believe the tag issue may be a bug and an internal ticket should be opened.

  • Hello pbgiv,
Greetings. Hope you are doing well.

Thank you for contacting us and providing the details. We have made an attempt to reproduce this issue on our end, but have been unsuccessful thus far. In order to reproduce this issue, we require specific information. Could you kindly inform us about the Source being used for the Content Ticker? This information can be found under Content > Dynamic Content Settings. If you are using Manual selection or, any other source generated from a separate event-related plugin, please specify the name of the plugin being used. Additionally, kindly provide a screencast depicting the overall scenario, including the tags of the events and event lists. This will enable us to thoroughly check all events and tags created on your website and assist in reproducing the issue on our end.

We are looking forward to your prompt response.
    Thank you.
