Yes, Brooklyn is loading the content dynamically. Open up a thread with the theme developers and ask how to trigger a callback after the content loads.

We have opened a thread with United Themes, to see what they recommend for hooking into the AJAX content load. We’ll post back any updates.
Hello Baden,
Thank you very much!! I will be holding on to your response.
Cheers!!

We received an answer from United Themes:
Brooklyn only loads the portfolio asynchronous, everything else are just animations.
So where exactly are you having this issue? Can you share a link? As you can see one of our test pages, we where able to get the expand element to work on a normal page without issue. However there is an issue with the Portfolio that we are looking into now.
Hello Baden!
Thank you for your attention in this matter.
The case where i’m using it is in a Portfolio post, with the mode “slide-up”, i’m working locally now but i will upload the site in a few minutes to give you a link.
Cheers!

Note: If you do not have an account, you will probably need to register using your Brooklyn purchase details to see the support thread at united themes.
