What happened: I installed WordFence and activated it as a free version user, completed registration/activation process from /wp-admin/plugins.php form, navigated to WordFence > Dashboard, was prompted again (tried registering/activating several times and was continually re-prompted).

What I expected to happen: Completion of registration/activation process on first try.

    Hosting environment: SiteGround (shared)

Suspect this is an issue with the recent update as I was able to complete the process as recently as two days ago w/o issue.

  • Hi @arswright!
Sorry for the late reply. I’m not sure exactly what happened here but it sounds like there may have been a problem with your database at the time. Possibly, the Wordfence tables weren’t created at all? You could look in the database, check specifically for wfConfig table and make sure it exists and that it’s not marked as crashed in the database. If it doesn’t exist, that’d likely be a problem with your database permissions.

    Hi @arswright,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while. I hope a reinstall fixes the issue, you can also try wiping the Wordfence tables within the database to see if that works too.

I’ve gone ahead and marked this thread as resolved. Please feel free to open another thread if you are still having issues with Wordfence.

    Thanks!
