    Hi there,

Will this version continue to be supported?
I’ve just tested v2 and can’t get it to work in the same way as V1.

The ‘Advanced – Paths’ settings don’t seem to do anything, as I can only get it to work if ‘*’ (all pages) is active. Am I doing it wrong?
I had the paths set to this for my Woocommerce pages:

    /contact
    /contact/*
    /my-account
    /my-account/*
    /wp-json/wc/store/v1/checkout
    !/wp-json/wc/store/v1/*

Absolutely nothing happens, unless ‘*’ is left in which I believe means it’s active on all pages.

I need the option from V1 to disable ‘Floating UI’, as I don’t want my entire website dulled out while the test is done.
I also need the ‘Integrations’ section as I’d like the Woocommerce contact / my account / checkout pages and contact form 7 to still show the widget as it does in V1.

I’m guessing I’m perhaps misreading the instructions, if there is a guide that will tell me how to use V2 so the frontend behaves exactly like V1, please let me know.

Also if V1 will continue to be supported, can you add an option to dismiss the “ALTCHA Plugin version 2 is now available, offering improved protection and enhanced reliability. An upgrade is recommended for all users.” notification from the plugins page please?

  • Hi,
This plugin is a 100% free and open-source project, which means it relies entirely on voluntary community contributions. If you’d like to help keep it active and well-maintained, please consider:

    • Contributing to the code base on GitHub, or
    • Leaving a positive review – it really makes a difference.

Regarding the new version 2, please make sure that:

    • You purge all caches after changing any Paths settings.
    • You’re testing the site as a regular (non-logged-in) user – logged-in admins are excluded from verification.

If you need the functionality provided by version 1, I recommend continuing to use version 1.

You can find full documentation here: https://altcha.org/docs/v2/wordpress/

    Hi @danielregeci,
Thank you for getting back to me 🙂

Glad to hear V1 will likely continue to be supported.
Thanks for the info, I’ll check out the Github.

Any chance of adding an option to dismiss the upgrade nag from the wordpress plugins section do you think?

Regarding the new version 2, I purged the cache after each updated attempt and tested using chrome incognito so’s not to be signed in as admin when testing.
Not sure why it didn’;’t work for me, but I’ll stick with V1 for now.

    Thanks again!

I totally agree. v2 is just bloat of stuff nobody asked for. v1 is just perfect. I could contribute, but I don’t see any reason to touch anything in latest v1 – it’s just perfect, while v2 is too complex – most stuff should be done on cloudflare or straight on hosting like firewall etc.
