    this aint the first time i ve had issues with wp displaying on iphones.

    for this reason, this time im using theme twenty twenty four. so a standard, theme.

    to no avail.

    last time(6months ago) ive had the issue with Kadence on [ redundant hostnames deleted ]

    All websites have one thing in common;
    NONE of the responsiveness functions on iphones. no hover effect, scrolling effects, captchas, nada.
    I have 4 different iphone devices available, all with safari, chrome and firefox.
    they ALL refuse to display any responsiveness of any(several themes) wp site.

    So, after a couple months of finding not one single reason as to why they wont work on iphones, please, enlighten me.
    dont u dare dare write, “clear the cache”….

    I visited crea visual from iPhone 13 chrome. Nothing is broken. All sections are coming one below other. Hamburger menu working fine. Text is readable. Images are visible.

    Can you please clearly highlight the problem you are facing? Which iOS version, browser, screenshots etc?

    The plugin called “background-particle-js” causes a JavaScript error when loading the page. This can affect the output of the website. Unfortunately, I can’t find anything about this plugin online. You should find out where you got it from and contact the developer.

    @wpcoworker no responsiveness; aerial section should display video background, other three sections should scroll over three fixed backgrounds. no hover effects. ( they’re off now )

    the way i see it, its an iphone problem. as the site runs smooth on android browsers.
    For some mysterious reason, it wont on three diffrent iphones.
    but that iphone problem becomes a me problem as my site should run on all devices.
    i could run a sitewide notice; Iphone users are screwed.sorry.

    and yes,@threadi i’ve been trying and failing to run particles js as background in the engineering section. in those regards, vincents website runs smooth, other websites run smooth, i got to a point where i ve gotten no more console errors, but nothing appeared, allthough the network tab obviously showed the CDN fetch. I tried other roads to rome; the elementor+addon thing worked, but layout editing with elementor is pro, and combining elementor with the original 2024 theme editor appearantly doesnt fly either. so i kicked the whole elementor thing out, knowing its a code thing on my end, since the elementor addition worked fine. the error ure seeing is from a plugin(https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/background-particle-js/)
    Anyway, it isnt related to the responsivenes on iphones.

    In the meantime i figured it might be aws related, tried (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/amp/) on/off, diffrent settings, but none made a difference. so i deactivated that plugin again.

    i tried from scratch, this time with the iphone wordpress website builder in ios16.6 and 18…, no dice, no responsiveness, no sticky backgrounds, the option is there, it just wont work. the basic 2025 theme does not have a switch between device layouts either. im out of ideas here.

    I’m not sure right now: are you talking about the view in the frontend or the editor in the backend?

    @threadi the option for sticky backgrounds is in the backend, in the ios wordpress builder, but doesnt work on frontend iphones. all iphones, all browsers.

    @wpcoworker

    Ive visited wp sites where resposivness works fine on IOS devices.
    But i had multiple sites(7 if you count the re-installs), where NONE of the resposiveness (not hover functions, not sticky, not scrolling headers, no video background, no particles.js, no sliders, work.
    from ios16 up to the latest 18, firefox chrome and safari, tested on 5 diffrent iphones, over the course of the last year.

    The standard 2025 theme does not seem compatible with IOS. the responsive options dont work. there is no dec+vice preview, or device specific settings…. i mean, its 2025, and the standard theme does not have a button to switch devices to check layout and compatibility whilst designing for phone tablet and pc…. and many, many plugins dont seem compatible with IOS.

    So please, lets not pretend everything is honkey doorey with wp and ios.
    Ive been making wp sites since 2012, on and off. there allways was the iphone idiocricy, but now i cant find a single theme or plugin that works fine with ios.

    After 3 moths wasted on themes and plugins incompatible with IOS.
    and estimated financial loss of 12.000usd,
    Im here to ask;

    what wp theme’s responsiveness DOES work on IOS?

    As you can see, crea-visual.com is not a rocket-science-situation. its a the most basic three pager with standard themes. kept basic to rule out plugin interferance.
    And it wont work, not with 2024, not with astra, hello elementor, or 2025.
    -The latest wp
    -standard 2025 theme
    -no plugins
    And it is not compatible with IOS

    ios wordpress builder

    Are you referring to this app here? https://apps.apple.com/us/app/wordpress-website-builder/id335703880 – if so, a problem would be better dealt with in the dedicated support forum: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/forum/mobile/ – other users also read there and could also evaluate it.

    sticky backgrounds

    Do you mean the cover block where you can set a background image and this option on it? According to https://caniuse.com/?search=background-attachment, the resulting style via background-attachment: fixed has been supported in iOS browsers for some time.

    Do you have a concrete example of a page where the background image is not fixed in the frontend, but should be? Then it would be much easier to understand your request.

    Thread Starter pekkie85

    (@pekkie85)

    @threadi

    Concrete example? the site only has 3 pages! let me repeat again, cuz this is getting exhausting…. NOTHING is responsive, not frontpage, not contact, theme wont apply to the blog section, allthough it has a dedicated page called “news”, layout and everything is set properly. there is NO hover, NO sticky backgrounds, no Floating menus, nada , nothing. But its ONLY fcked on IOS. Android, pc, centOS, ubuntu, all browsers, all OS. fine, EXEPT IOS…. i really can not be more specific.

    my request is fairly easy;
    WHY arent the standard themes ios compatible, in 2025
    What theme IS compatible. as i tried 4!

    The IOS wp builder was just to point out that the IOS compatibility doesnt work, no matter the platform it was created on. that app mostly works fine(99%), its WP, the THEMES, and IOS that are incompatible with each other.

    (@pekkie85)

    visit the site with a pc, and then with an iphone.

    @moderator where do i actually adress this problem with WordPress itself? Cuz sorry, but this forum seems to be a bit of a joke.

    I have investigated and have come to the conclusion that over 85% of WP themes and plugins are “incompatible with IOS” allthough i suspect it is more IOS that is the culprit, as every other device and OS on the planet displays the wp sites, themes and plugins correctly.

    And everyone here is pretending everything is honkey doorey.

    As this is costing me a huge chunk of money, and i am not alone, it seems like a very pressing matter that might be escalated to the news and social media circles, and even courts of law.
