Controlling Embed Format
-
I would like to find a way to control the format of how embeds of other WordPress posts appear. I use the standard WordPress embed function in the block editor and:
1. Sometimes the format it presents is a huge featured image from the page that is overwhelming followed by a brief summary of the text from that page. See the “Related Articles” section in the following post for an example: /what-are-the-critical-skills-of-a-product-owner/
2. Other times, the featured image is shown off to the side in a thumbnail size with a brief summary of the text from the page on the side of the featured image. See the “Related Articles” section in the following post for an example: /design-thinking-and-agile/
In style #1 above, the size of the featured image is overpowering and is way out-of-place. I prefer style #2 but I don’t know how to control the style it presents. I would prefer not to modify any WordPress files or write any PHP code. Is there another way to control this format?
