Great question and good news!
With the release of version 5 of the Robo Gallery plugin, we’ve introduced a long-awaited feature that many users have been asking for: the ability to convert existing galleries from one type to another without needing to recreate them from scratch.
This new feature supports both the older gallery types (up to version 3) and the latest layouts introduced in version 5. For example, if you previously created classic galleries using Grid, Masonry, Mosaic, or other layouts, you can now easily switch them to new formats like Horizontal Masonry, Vertical Masonry, Justify Gallery or even the new Fusion Gallery type.
Here’s how you can do it:
1. Open the gallery you want to convert in the editor.
2. At the top of the settings panel, you’ll see a “Change Gallery Type” button.
3. Click it, and a gallery type wizard will open where you can choose the new layout you want to apply.
4. Once selected, the plugin will automatically convert your existing gallery to the new type – no need to rebuild it from scratch!
You can also take advantage of the new hover effects, including those with social sharing buttons, by enabling them in the hover settings once the gallery is converted.
