Convert Legacy Data prompt?

    Hello. What exactly will be executed if one clicks the “Convert Legacy Data” button after updating to version 5.0.1? Also, is this absolutely necessary to do and why? If it is necessary, why was it not being performed automatically after plugin update?

    I feel that site admins need a better idea of what exactly is being performed BEFORE clicking to convert anything.
