Cookies and localStorage

Hey everyone 👋

We’re planning to shift most of Poptin’s targeting options (like frequency, page targeting, not showing the same popup to converted visitors, etc.) from cookies to localStorage.

The main reasons are:

• Better compatibility with privacy restrictions – localStorage doesn’t fall under the same cookie-consent limitations in many cases.
• Faster performance – reduces cookie lookups and improves load speed.
• Simpler cross-feature logic – especially when handling popups, forms, and triggers within the same session.
