Cookies are not completely blocked

    Hello,
    how can I block Google reCAPTCHA cookies until the user gives their consent?
    I’ve now received three emails from Google stating, that cookies are being set before the user has given their consent and that I should prevent this.

    In the browser console, I can see the cookies _GRECAPTCHA, AEC, NID, and SOCS. According to the web, these are not technically necessary cookies. However, I don’t see any option in the plugin to block these cookies. How do I configure this? Thank you for your help.

    Hi @natsshop

    We believe that Google cookies are out of our control as they are created by Google when users use any of the Google services in the same browser as viewing your site or if your site calls Google services (such as recaptcha).

    Google cookies are stored under the google.com domain and our plugin cannot delete or modify cookies stored under other domains.

    Hello,
    thank you for wanting to help me.
    The cookies are set by Gravity Forms, a plugin I’m using. Gravity Forms has a feature to integrate Google reCAPTCHA. If I understand correctly, Gravity Forms then sets the cookies. Shouldn’t there be a way to prevent that?

    Hi @natsshop

    You may need to ask Gravity forms about how to manage consent for the recaptcha cookies if recaptcha tool is integrated into their forms.

    The reCaptcha code loads earlier in the page than our plugin code otherwise it can’t block the spams, so it is not possible to block it using JavaScript.
