    Hello,

    first of all congratulations for your great plugin: easy to install and configure.

    I have a problem: since I have installed the plugin, Google Analytics reports that the visitors to my site have dropped by 2/3.

    This problem continued for a week, until (yesterday), I disabled the plugin: well, the next day the number of visitors was back to normal.

    I suspect that the number of visitors is always the same: it could be that they refuse cookies, thus analytics doesn’t register their visit.

    Could you confirm this? Just in case, is there a way to keep the plugin enabled and to know the actual number of visitors even if they don’t accept cookies?

    Many thanks in advance for your support.

    Hi @anthyx,

    Greetings from CookieYes.

    Before the user gives their consent, our plugin will block the Google Analytics script. When a user denies the cookie, the script will never execute again unless the user changes his consent. It obviously has an impact on your website’s Analytics data.

    We noted that the plugin is not active on the site now. If you could activate it, we will check the site and suggest a solution if possible.

    Hello,

    many thanks for the reply.

    I have just activated CookieYes, please let me know if there is a workaround to know the number of visitors … even if they deny cookies (it seems there is A LOT of them).

    Thanks.

    Hi @anthyx,

    To find out how many people are visiting the site, you can connect the plugin with the CookieYes Web app and implement Google Consent Mode on the site.

    Hi @cookieyesteam,

    Thanks for the suggestion. I have already connected the plugin to my site.
    About implementing Google Consent Mode, I have found this tutorial (made bu CookieYes):

    https://www.cookieyes.com/documentation/implementing-google-consent-mode-using-cookieyes/

    Is it updated? If it is, and I choose the implementation method using Google Tag Manager template, once I have completed the procedure, can I expect to get the real number of visitors in Google Analytics? (even if the users don’t give their consent)

    Thanks a lot for your support.

    Hi @anthyx,

    You may implement Google consent mode by following Google’s documentation. The link you shared explains setting up consent mode for our web app solution, and this will not work with the plugin.

    Hi @cookieyesteam,

    sorry I probably was not clear:

    1) I have installed the plugin;
    2) The plugin and my site are connected to your web app;

    I need to know if by following this tutorial:

    https://www.cookieyes.com/documentation/implementing-google-consent-mode-using-cookieyes/

    I can get the actual number of visitors in analytics even if they don’t accept cookies.

    Many thanks in advance and sorry for troubling you.
    (I don’t think to be the only one to have this problem, why don’t you implement a specific option in the plugin / web app settings?)

    Best regards,

    A.

    Hi @anthyx,

    The documentation refers directly to the websites added through our web app installation code. Since you are using a plugin-connected web app account, you cannot follow this tutorial. When you implement it, two scripts of CookieYes will be injected into your website, causing errors, and the plugin will stop functioning.

    You can implement the consent mode either in its default way, as Google suggests, or you can add the installation code of CookieYes directly to your HTML instead of making use of the plugin.
