hello – we are putting a new 2 site multisite together, its behind basic auth so cant share a link.

We have a custom post type with custom taxonomy terms and we’re copying from one site to another. The terms exist on both sites – same slug but different term ID. When we copy the terms dont get added to the copied posts.

Is the system copying terms based on the ID or the slug of the term in the target site? This a blocker to us being able to use this plugin and im hoping to use it on at least 3 other sites we need it for. I really want this to work but if not i will need to go for a refund and start hunting again.

Its time sensitive so a quick answer would be really appreciated, i know youre probably mad busy so thank you in advance

    All the best

    Richard Starr

    Hello Richard @binarystarr ,

Please navigate to the plugin section “Which elements shall be used?”, tick the box “All post meta”, and save the settings.

This feature ensures that all post meta, including all custom post meta, is copied.

Please let me know if this solved the issue. If not, please provide more details on which plugin adds the custom meta/taxonomy so we can try to replicate the issue on our side and fix it.

    Kind regards

Its working fine – the issue seems to be with the default config settings. Ive set taxonomies to be part of the default set but when i hit “define it for this case” its not ticked.

default settings (sorry for the poor image quality):

define it for this case settings (using the default set):

@binarystarr on your screenshots it is visible that “All post meta” is not selected in the plugin settings. Please tick the box and remember to Save the settings.

Once you do this, it will be enabled by Default advanced Copy options (the menu on the second screenshot).

    Kind regards

Sorry – to be clear – the duplication is working 100% fine without the all post meta box ticked. My other issue was that the “taxonomies” box is ticked as part of the default set but when i click on “define it for this case” when i do a copy the taxonomy box is not ticked.

That was the issue – i hadnt spotted that it was unticked even though i had save it as part of the default set.

If is simply click on copy instead of define it for this case – it works fine, taxonomies copied as well. So it seems to use the correct default set when just clicking copy but not when you define.

Either way – this is a great plugin and i will be rolling out the premium version across other sites – nice work!

    Hey @binarystarr ,

Good catch! Thank you so much for providing the additional information and for pointing out the issue! We will get it fixed in the next plugin version, so as always, please keep the plugin updated.

    Kind regards
