Core gallery not working

Im running WP locally using MAMP. Its a fresh install, no plugins, etc.
I added a gallery to the “Hello World” post and the images do display in the thumbnails correctly. However, when I click on theme they do not display in the carousel view, it just takes me to a page with the full image. I have tried to use both options, Attachment & Image.

Not sure if there are any settings that Im missing.
