Yesterday the system added another payment method to my site. I had Stripe, Paypal and Bank transfer, but now there is also a new 4th method named “Core settings”. When I select it, the text “Pay with Apple Pay” appears together with its logo and link.

I dont have Apple Pay, and there is only the 3 mentioned payment methods enabled at WooCommerce > Settings > Payments.
So where does this 4th payment option come from and how do I remove it?

    Hello sveilore,

Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support.

I understand that a new payment method named “Core settings” appeared on your site alongside Stripe, PayPal, and Bank Transfer, even though you did not enable it. When selected, it displays “Pay with Apple Pay” along with its logo and link.

WooCommerce does not add payment methods by itself, so this is unexpected behavior. Please share screenshots of the 4th payment method. You may use https://snipboard.io to upload images and share links here.

Also, please share your site’s System Status Report with me. You can paste it into https://pastebin.com and share the link here.

Looking forward to your response. 🙂

    I hope this works. 😉

    Hi @sveilore,

Thank you for the SSR and the screenshot.

The “Core settings” payment method you’re seeing is likely coming from one of your installed payment gateway plugins. Since you have WooCommerce PayPal Payments, Payment Plugins for Stripe WooCommerce, and Checkout.com Payment Gateway, I recommend deactivating these plugins one by one and checking if the issue disappears.

Once you identify the plugin causing this, you can reach out to its support team for further assistance.

Thank you! It`s the Checkout.com Payment Gateway plugin who is causing the issue. I have emailed them, and hopefully I will get a reply.

I visited the settings of the plugin at my Payment Methods page, and found the error. Apple Pay was enabled for whatever reason, surely not by me as I have never visited these settings before. Even when the plugin wasn`t enabled as a Payment Method, it was still showing on my site.

    Hi there!

Thanks for the update! It’s great that you were able to identify the Checkout.com Payment Gateway plugin as the cause of the issue. Since you’ve already contacted their support team, hopefully, they’ll be able to provide a fix or guidance soon.

In the meantime, if Apple Pay is still appearing despite being disabled in the settings, you might want to try:

    1. Temporarily disabling the Checkout.com plugin and checking if the issue disappears.
    2. Clearing your site and browser cache to ensure old settings aren’t being displayed.

Let me know if you need further assistance while waiting for their response!
