I am trying to update WP along with a handful of plugins but get the “could not create directory” error on all of them. All of the plugins just say that, but when I try to update WP, it says: Could not create directory.: wordpress/wp-admin/css/colors/blue

All of my permissions are set to 755 and I temporarily set them to 777 to see if that worked. I’ve also tried deactivating all plugins but nothing is working. Any thoughts?

    – Manually updating or auto updating?

    – If auto updating WP did not work, try manually updating. Download a fresh copy of the WordPress .zip file to your computer, unzip it, and use that to copy up all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory. You may need to delete the old wp-admin and wp-includes folders and files on your server before uploading the new ones. Please read the Manual Update directions first.

    – installing plugins manually: https://codex.ww.wp.xz.cn/Managing_Plugins#Manual_Plugin_Installation

I was trying the auto update, but the manual update ended up solving it. Thanks for your help and for the quick response.
