Hi @cozyfantasy,
could you check if a test.txt file has been created in the rsssl directory? What you can also try is to reset the Let’s Encrypt wizard by pressing the ‘Reset Let’s Encrypt’ link in the top right corner of the wizard. Could you try if you can continue after resetting the wizard?
I reset the wizard and I am getting the same error. I manually created the rsssl directory and set permissions to 644. No test.txt file is created.
Hi @rick1971,
Would it be possible for you to provide us with your domain, and further details about the configuration/set-up of this specific environment?
Kind regards,
Jarno
The site is in openlitespeed within cyberpanel, behind cloudflare. I sent you the domain name through slack.
Hi @rick1971,
The website you attached in the Slack message already has a valid SSL certificate installed, and SSL is working correctly on that website.
If your site is already functioning on SSL it is not necessary for the “test.txt” file to be created, as this is only necessary when generating an SSL certificate.
Regardless of the above, I’d suspect the underlying cause of the issue to be related to a configuration on the server-side. For instance, it could be that the OpenLiteSpeed user doesn’t have the necessary permissions to write to this directory.
I hope this helps/clarifies!
Kind regards,
Jarno
Thank you for the reply. The working SSL is actually from cloudflare and then there is a self-signed certificate on the domain itself instead of a full SSL. It’s weird that the SSL wizard works fine for other domains on the same server. I agree it is probably some unusual configuration glitch preventing it from being able to write the directory. I’ve tried changing permissions but nothing seems to work. Seems to be a weird glitch on this particular domain. Thanks again for looking into it.
