Hello, I’m fairly new to the plugin. I am based in Canada and am using Stripe as my payment gateway. The transaction part is working well, my question is around the front facing form and email receipt.

In the General > Currency > Currency Preview area of the admin panel is shows: $123,456.12, which is correct. However on all the public facing parts of the UI it displays as CA$123,456.12. I really do not want the CA to be present, as this is a Canada website only geared at Canadians and it looks redundant to have the CA, is there a place to disable this? Thank you.

    Hi @timcrux ,

Good day! Thanks for writing in.

Currently, we don’t have a way to remove the country code from the currency. However, there’s a feature request for what you’re asking about: https://feedback.givewp.com/feature-requests/p/ability-to-remove-the-country-code-from-the-currency.

We are actively tracking user feedback to understand further the needs you all have. You can use the link to check in for updates or to provide additional details of your own. I would encourage you to comment on that post about the impact this would have on your organization. Information like that is always helpful for our teams to see. I’ve also linked your inquiry internally, so if this feature request is developed, I can update this post.

Give the request above a look, and let me know if there are any additional details you would like me to add. I want to ensure your need is as accurately reflected as possible, and I’m happy to include an internal note to our teams with any specific information you would like them to have.

Currently, a donation amount is mandatory, and we do not have a way to remove that option. However, there’s a feature request for what you’re asking about: https://feedback.givewp.com/events-beta-feedback/p/donation-amount-shouldnt-be-required-when-purchasing-tickets.

I’m marking this one as resolved, but please don’t hesitate to shoot some more questions in here, and I’ll pop back in to assist.

    Thank you for using GiveWP!

    Have a lovely day!

    Hi @timcrux ,

Please excuse this follow-up message and the great blunder that was my initial reply.

It looks like I pressed send far too early (and there’s no going back from that one), as I found out that the formatting is based on what the browser’s language is set to.

For example, if the browser was set to English (United States), then you would see the CA in the dollars — https://share.zight.com/7Kuw1OK8.

However, if the language was set to English (Canada), you would not see the CA —https://share.zight.com/NQunO6Pq.

Would you be able to share what your locale or default language your browser is set to? When you set it to English (Canada), does the CA disappear?

Looking forward to helping you get to the bottom of this!

Ah-ha! Success, that did the trick. Thank you very much.
