Hi, I’ve set a coupon to offer a 10% discount and we’ve checked to offer free shipping.
The Issue arises when you set it to work when any composite or category (made of composite products) .
It does offer the free shipping but it never makes the discount , because coupons do not see the composite
What’s the right way to define coupons to be applied to composites?
I have Coupon exclusion on NO
The Coupon should activate for the cart total IF the composite x or category XY is in the cart.

    Thanks.

    Hi @slipperyman ,

It’s recommended to only choose one kind of promotion for your coupons. If your composite is always qualified for free shipping, then choose the Free Shipping for the shipping class in the Shipping tab of your Composite product page and only configure a 10% discount for the coupon under Marketing >> Coupons.

    Best regards.

Hi Janilyn, No, It’s not always qualified for free shipping, Just for the people with the coupon.

I think the problem might be that the composite is not being counted as a product in the cart nor it’s category.

    Hi @slipperyman ,

I’ve got a response from our developers about your case. So, if you would like to grant free shipping and a discount at the same time for the composite, there are some requirements for it to work:

    • The composite must use Only base price pricing and has a price entered in the General tab. So our plugin can calculate the discount.
    • The shipping method must be set to “Apply to the whole composite” and a shipping class must be classified for the main composite, so the free shipping will be granted on the main composite when the coupon is entered.

If you choose other pricing methods, the prices of subproducts are included in the total but they won’t be discounted because you have configured the coupon to apply for the composite category only. The subproducts are not included in that category, only the main composite.

So you can check your composite again and adjust the settings to achieve your goal.

    Best regards.

    Hi, Thanks for your reply….

We Calculate the composite price based on the components. You’ll see , customers can select for each component the variation and quantity, (that’s why we use composites and not bundles or groups)
So setting a price for the whole composite makes no sense.

The price is calculated based on that selection the customer makes. So the coupons we make grants some customers a discount and free shipping if they buy that comoposite, no matter what they select inside( cause we know for sure that most components will be sold, what we don’t know is which variation of each component they will buy)
