• All new courses preview shows the tile of a different course.

Adding a course giving it some tiltle, then clicking preview in new window” shows the titlle of one other allready existing course. This can be reproduced, adding another course shows same course title (of the same already existing course).

In the live view it shown correct; in the course its selfe as well as in the courses list.

This issue is indeed not a big problem, but could confuse a bit other authors of our website, who are working on courses.

So my question is: Is this an issue of LearnPress plugin which will get fixed) or have I done s.th. wrong and can fix it myselfe?

    Hi,

Can you create a record screen video so we can check? We checked on our system and the title course when the preview was correct.

    Thanks

Not only the course title is wrong but also the course description. Well in the first view the course description is correct. But when clicking “curiculum” (“Lehrplan” in german) and then clicking to a lesson, LP brings you back to the course descritpion and now shows a different description; that one which belongs to the shwon course title.

All this happens only when the course is in state “draft”. If it is published, the preview works correct. If set back from published to draft again, the effect re-occours.

This all isnt a big problem, but it realy is a bit a problem. When creating and working on a new course I would wish to work on it until its final and check if everyting is as it should be before publishing the course to students.

Forgot to tell: I am using the latest version (V 4.6.2) of LP (i have set the plugin to auto update).

That is a special case because I checked again on our local and it is working fine.

    Backend: https://prnt.sc/cNyS-3N0LVHE

    Frontend: https://prnt.sc/HftM_S3mrfdx

Please try to disable each plugin on your site or switch to the default WordPress theme to check again.

    Dear brianvu-tp,

    Thanx checking again!

I have disabled all plugins except Learnpress (just the basic plugin) and switchend to default 2024 theme. And the preview did work (but ofcourse site looks unusable, menus missing all color,.. settings, custom css gone,..).

Made some more testings and found out it is not related to one of the plugins but just to the theme. I tryed 2023 and 2024 theme and it works.

The theme I am using on this site is Kadence (free version, version 1.1.51).

    Summing up so far:
I guess I did not realy make something wrong which causes the effect.
Problem can be related to theme or to plugin or both are ok, but the combination is a bad idea.

I didnt expect problems combining Kadence and LearnPress cause both are one of the most recomended LMS plugin and WP theme.

Just tested some other well known, often recomended themes:

Generatepress, 2021 and 2020. With all of these I get the same effect as with Kadence. Only 2024 and 2023 (which are both FSE block themes) do not show this effect.

Another thing I am wondering about the preview of a course in darf versus published state:

If I preview a course in draft state (with theme twenty twenty-four) at the first view its fine. Also the curiculum looks ok. But then when clicking on a lesson I am thrown back to the overview instead that it changes to the selected lesson.

Please find a record screen video here: https://weiselrichtig.ocloud.de/index.php/s/jJdgkoBodMTGpWb
(in the video you can also see theme 2024 is active and all plugings except LearnPress are deactivated)

Therefore I am not able to create and add tests with quizzes to a course, without publishing it. But at that moment the course isnt complete, its missing a few lessons and all tests.
I need a method to work on a course, to be able to (pre-)view it before showing the course in the courses list.

Is this a special problem of my instance? Or is there some kind of a bug? Or how is the recommended way to prepare courses, checking/testing if it is all ok before showing students that this course exists.

In the meantime I tryed plain new empty wordpress install using theme 2024, adding no plugins at all but only LearnPress. Using just the demo courses which can be added by LP – tools. And I encounter serious preview problems on courses in draft state.

    Here is how to reproduce:

    1. Create plain new empty wordpress (V 6.4.3 on PHP 8.0 or 8.1) website with just theme twenty twenty-four (without any plugins)
E.g. use tastewp.com -> create new site (de-select all suggested plugins)
    2. Install Learnpress Plugin (V 4.2.6 = current version) by plugins – add new plugin …
    3. use LP – tools to install a demo course
    4. Give the demo course a different name then just “sample course” (e.g. “my sample course 1”)
    5. use LP – tools to install another demo course
    6. cklick edit on both courses (in new window), test the preview” preview changes” (or “preview in new window” if using block editor)
6.1. select curiculum, click any lesson,… (test a bit)
-> works as expected (same view as a student would have if the course would be public and course enrolled)
    7. set one of the courses to “draft” state and preview this course
      7.1. select “curiculum”
      7.2. select any lesson
-> youĺl find yourselfe in the course main page with “overview” selected (instead in the view curiculum at the left side bar and course content in the main view)
    8. set the other courses to “draft” state so that both (=all) courses now are in draft state and preview this course (or/and the other one)
-> You ĺl see a more or less empty page showing you have navigated to “Home – All Courses – “, nothing realy more. No course preview at all!

If you want I can make a record screen video

Hope we can figure out and solve soon!
