CPT UI – Can’t archive posts

    I am attempting to archive posts in the various custom post types that I have created, but I noticed that the ‘Status’ dropdown menu that appears in the Status & Visibility section of a given post’s settings is missing. I should be able to toggle a post between Published, Draft, and Archive, but the dropdown simply isn’t there. Can someone point me in the right direction as to how I can go about changing a custom post from ‘Published’ status to ‘Archived’ status? Thanks!

    Are you using block editor or classic editor for this?

    Asking because I see the dropdown for classic editor version but not block, but I am also seeing that same thing for standard post post type too.

    Noted on that part, I’m not managing to find anything with the block editor that seems to relate to status, outside of standard spots like “published”, ‘pending review”, “scheduled”, and “draft” and this has me wondering if WordPress core has removed custom statuses for blocks. They definitely don’t seem to offer a dropdown like they did with classic editor.

    SOLVED – It looks like you have to click the ‘Quick Edit’ link that appears below the post name on your list of posts. The panel that drops down contains the Status dropdown menu with the ‘Archived’ option. Thanks for your help!

    Hmm. Good to know on that part, but feels like a case of a spot where they haven’t necessarily been able to edit to “match” the block editor without a lot of breaking of backwards compatibility. Ideally you’d be able to edit this in the full editor, but at this point, whatever works.
