• I have had a word press blog for awhile. It is located at http://news.thumbtak.net

Recently I have had a major CPU overload issue. I don’t know why it is causing high CPU usage. I installed a bunch of plugins and optimized my database. The plugins were to help with the CPU overoad from one I had a long time ago.

What can I do to fix this issue?

Try disabling all of your plugins. While most plugins are pretty light weight CPU-wise, they do add some overhead depending on what they actually do.

And some are just not that well written and add a lot of overhead. 😉

If you can get a graph of your server’s CPU/Memory usage over time, then disable all of your plugins, reactivate one. Wait for the CPU/Memory graph to update and add another plugin.

Rinse wash and repeat until you find what the plugin is that may be causing the problem.

Most of the plugins I use are very improtant to the site. Things like wp-supercache.
