    Hi,

Our website crashed on March 21st, and since then we haven’t had access to it. We din’t touch any root files this day. We only installed two plugins (BackupBuddy and GA Analytics) directly from the wordpress interface, and updated WordPress. We got a 500 error after trying to activate GA Analytics (which was our last move on the site), and since then, nothing.

So here comes the weirdest thing. We have mainly been using our website to post blog articles. We have been posting since last July, and started to post once or twice a week from the beginning of January. All the articles were there on March 21st, right before the site crashed; but right now, a few tables of our database are empty: (wp_links/wp_postmeta/wp_posts/wp_scs_subscribers/wp_scs_usage_stat/wp_smush_dir_images/wp_termmeta/wp_yikes_easy_mc_forms) Which is already weird by itself. We tested backups of our database from the five previous days, we even went back to December 5th 2017, and still there, the table wp_posts, for example, is empty… I just don’t get it…since the table wp_posts couldn’t be empty at that time.

Is there any way to explain that? Would it be possible that other tables contain our posts? I just don’t understand how this can be possible. If someone can help, that would be great, because we’re desperate !

Thank you very much for reading.

    Stéphane

Glad to help. I’m not sure what might be happening with your site, but in general can recommend troubleshooting your plugins and theme. Also may want to investigate the site’s error/debug logs, as they tend to provide useful information regarding site performance, et al. And, if I can provide any specific information about the plugin, please let me know. Glad to help however possible.
